On Friday, November 17th, the constitutive, or first, session of the Assembly of the Student Parliament was held and all six members attended. Amer Kurtović was appointed president of the Student Parliament and Jasmin Novalić the vice president.
After introductory words by the acting president of the Student Parliament and the intonation of the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly was adopted.
After that, Amer Kurtović, a third year student of the Department of International Relations and European Affairs, was nominated and unanimously elected president.
He nominated Jasmin Novalić, a second year student of the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, for vice president and Mersiha Jaskuć, a third year student of the Department of International Relations and European Affairs, as the secretary. Both nominations were unanimously adopted and they were appointed vice president and secretary, respectively.
The Assembly also, at the president’s proposal, delegated student representatives to University and faculty bodies, namely: Amer Kurtović (1st cycle), Sabina Halilović (2nd cycle), and Lejla Bandić (3rd cycle) to the University Senate, Nejla Babić to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Education and Humanities, Lamija Palalija to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, and Jasna Nuhić to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Engineering and Social Sciences.
Those present agreed to hold another session of the Assembly at the beginning of December, when committees as work bodies of the Student Parliament and the Secretariat as the administrative and technical body of the Student Parliament will be formed. All students are invited to deliver their CV’s and letters of intent (up to 200 words) to be appointed to one of the four committees to the mail email@example.com by Tuesday, December 5th at the latest.
The committees are: Committee for Education and Curriculum (ten members), Committee for External Relations and Cooperation (five members), Committee for Student Life and University Campus (five members), and Committee for Student Rights and Responsibilities (five members).
